Review of Westinghouse 64095 Brandt Point Three-Light Pendant, Brushed Nickel with White Alabaster Globe

We bought this lamp when it was on the Gold Box sale, for about $85. If it were still that price, I'd give it 4 stars. But for the higher price, while still a decent deal, it is really just OK.

This lamp is hanging in our dining room. The amount of light is perfect. Not too bright, not too dim. We can eat by it, the kids can do homework by it. This is important, since these bulbs will not work properly with a dimmer switch. We replaced one of those old-fashioned, ten bulb things (the bulbs looked like "flames") that neither looked good, nor was efficient.

This lamp looks nice. Nothing special, the glass is alabaster style, not actual alabaster. The lamp comes with plenty of chain to use if you have to connect it to a wall outlet, but we hung it straight from the ceiling, with only one link. And it looks fine either way. The style is modern enough to go with modern furnishings. We have antique furnishings, and the style is traditional enough that it works.

The picture is slightly confusing, not making it clear if the three prongs go inside or outside the top of the metal ring that holds the glass globe. They all three *are* above the ring. (In the picture it looks like two are outside, and one is inside...odd...like the picture is doctored for some reason.)

If you love this style, the lamp is excellent. If you are just looking for a decent, efficient, not-too-expensive lamp, this will do for a dining room or hallway. If it comes back on the Gold Box for less than $100, I definitely recommend it.

This is a well built product and is well-represented by the product images.The nickel finish is high quality and the alabaster-glass globes look great.Notably, this compact fluorescent fixture starts quite quickly and brightly.I was initially hesitant to buy as I've got several compact florescent bulbs (mostly spots) that take about 1 minute to warm up, starting out very dim, before they provide any decent light output.These 13W GU24 base units come on quite brightly the instant they are turned on, although the light output does seem to increase a bit over the next minute.We've installed in the bathroom and are very pleased to use about 40 watts to get the equivalent of about 180 watts of incandescent. Highly recommended.

These bulbs are fine -- they do what they are supposed to do. Customer service from Light Bulbs etc. was truly exceptional. I needed the bulbs for a ceiling fan, and these are the wrong bulbs for my fan. A call to Light Bulbs etc. gave me a salesperson who knew his stock well. He recommended a bulb with the correct base for my ceiling fan, and then shipped those bulbs at no charge.

I bought this modern pendant light to go over a kitchen sink. It's perfect because it ONLY lights up the sink, not that entire end of the kitchen. The light is clear and bright but so concentrated that it can be used as a night light. I am switching all my lighting to LED's and this one is my favorite so far. Am getting at least one more!

I am very disappointed with this fixture _after_ the installation. The web picture shows bright white glass (when lit), but the glass is NOT white - it is tinted, and it actually looks _dirty_ against an off white (Dover white) ceiling during the day or when it's turned off.

In addition, or maybe because of the dark glass, the light output is way below what I expected for a 55 watt fluorescent light. I have a two circline fluorescent bulb fixture (22 watt & 32 watt T9 circline) in the kitchen and it provides plenty of light. This one is definitely not brighter than my previous fixture, which used two 60 watt incadescent bulbs and was insufficient. Fluorescent bulbs should have a higher light output (lumens) with such power (55 watts), since a 23 watt compact fluorescent is equivalent to 100 watt incadescent bulb. So I expected someting equivalent to a 200 watt incadescent, but I have a torchiere with two 75 watt incadescent bulbs in the same room and it provides more light! I wonder how it got Energy Star rating for this light output! Probably without the shade.

The manufacturer's (Lithonia's) web site lists this bulb's light color in the technical specifications document as 2700K and in other places as 3500K - very inconsistent. However, this is probably irrelevant any way due to the tinted glass diffuser.

Finally, the "brushed bronze finish" term is very deceiving. It is achieved literally by painting a slightly lighter metal with dark brown flat paint using a coarse brush. Sometimes the brush strokes are in a wrong direction!

I recently purchased the Kenroy Home 307420RB Plateau Floor Lamp. It is one of the most beautiful lamps I've ever seen. Has a good weight to it and I think it will last for many many years. It seems a bit shorter than most floor lamps but it fits into my room perfectly. I also ordered the matching table lamp and wasn't as happy with that purchase because the metal was welded poorly making the lamp look lop-sided.

Bought this at 1/3rd the ERV ($20) and I would say it is worth maybe $12-14. The base is poorly designed - I should have noticed this in the picture, which is my fault. It dips in at the bottom, and the result is it is poorly balanced. There is a small (tacky) cut-out in the base at EACH SIDE for the cord to run through. It must be fit in exactly, or it does not sit flat. It would have been better had there been 1 cut out in the back. The glass shademust be screwed on, unfortunately the ring that holds in on is VERY cheaply made, it slipped as I slid it on. If you have large hands, don't bother buying this or you will need to find a child or woman with small hands to accomplish this task. I am concerned that if the lamp is on for some time, it will come loose and the shade will come off and break. Next problem - the shade does not sit flush with the holder (shaped wrong?) - I cannot quite figure this out, but the result is that it does not hang gracefully down as pictured, but rather at a slight angle. To fix this, I loosened the poorly fitting ring, but am concerned this will just increase the likelihood it will fall off. Alright, I turned it on - and got... the red light district. It is not subtle at all - my husband thinks we are on a submarine, which is probably better than the first impression. It is not sufficient to read with, and too much for a subtle glow, so I am a little confused at what the effect it supposed to be. I am using a compact fluorescent bulb - and even this seems to bright - I think the wattage needs to be decreased considerably (maybe down to one of those candle shaped lights?). Three stars because it looks good when off (assuming no one touches it) and it works (which, hey, is something).

As other reviewers have stated, this is clearly a product with an incorrect description. The lamps I received are black/nickel with silver fabric shades.

Unfortunately I am all but certain that we are incapable of disassembling them and getting them back into the original packaging. I would give the engineers who designed the packaging 5 stars because I could never have imagined fitting everything in that box without damage.

Don't buy these unless you want black/nickel/silver!

I bought 2 of these to hang in my son's window. He's six months old and I though he might love to see the rainbows in his room. There are so many facets that it absolutely fills his room with rainbows and he loves them! (Of course, the prisms are small enough to present a choking hazard, so they need to be kept in the window) They are wonderful! I highly recommend them if you are looking to cast rainbows in your room.

This is a nice girly light fixture, though a bit flimsy. Chosen by my wife for our newborn daughter's room, I was initially not happy to have to swap out the perfectly good existing fixture in the room, but now that it's up, the Rosavita is a nice touch. The pink roses and crystals accessorize nicely with the decor of the room. One word of caution, the 3/4" mounting screws that come with the fixture proved to be too short. They didn't peek through the fixture mounting plate far enough for me to get the cap screws onto them. After struggling with them for some time, I had to finally run out to Home Depot for a few 1" screws that did the trick.

Ordinarily I buy my crystals for incorporation into beaded sun catchers which I then sell.This one I'm keeping for myself.It's the first Swarovski etched logo product I have purchased.My husband had to get a magnifying glass out and found a small speck which we later learned was the S logo. :) The logo notwithstanding, this crystal is beautiful.I'll have to buy it in other colors.

I purchased this light fixture for my kids play room and since I was going for the lime green and blue color pallette, I thought it was great that the fixture included these colors and that I could take the peach and yellow ones out and put more blue and green ones in, but It turned out not to be that easy.It is very difficult to change the colors because they are made out of paper and bend easily, and when they do bend they do not look good at all-- I wasted so many of them trying to create the look I wanted.When I was done it looked awesome, but It was very hard to do!If I knew it was going to be that way, I would have just left it the way it was.I would recommend this only to someone who doesnt want to change the colors, otherwise its not worth the effort or the money for that matter.

I bought this product to save money on a kitchen remodel that was going over budget fast!People like the look of them but the bulbs did not screw in very well.The bulb recepticle is cheap.I would buy the product again if I can replace the bulbs when they burn out! heh hehOne other note there are 3 rods that screw into each other to get the correct drop from roof and 1,2, or 3 is what you get.You can not cut them to a custom size.This is my first reveiw on Amazon so rate it ;)

I read a book I ordered on Amazon.com about feng shui and it included the crystal in the color blue as a career and education helper. Not in those exact terms, but believe me it works. Review of Kenroy Home 3334 Wright 2-Light Table Lamp

I was immediately struck by the style of this lamp (as well as its one bulb sibling).On that front, the product image speaks for itself--either you find it attractive or not.There are several things that the images don't show, however.First, although it may at first glance appear to be metal, the body of the lamp is a dark wood.Second, the lamp looks like it could be unstable, but the base is much heavier than the rest of it, meaning its center of gravity is low and it remains very stable--I've never been worried it was going to tip over.Third, the cord emerges out of one of the long sides of the rectangular base, so this may affect how you would want to place it.

I really like this lamp--I can't say love, not for a lamp--but there are three potential caveats.First, it is not especially bright, even with two 100 watt bulbs, as the glass lampshades seem to consume a good chunk of the bulb's light.Second, that light is distinctly amber in color.It's almost feels like the room is being lit by torches (albeit without any flickering flames).Third, the switch for the lamp is on the cord, which feels awkward; as a result, the lamp is probably best suited for rooms where it can be plugged into an electrical outlet controlled by a switch.(The lamp's switch also controls both bulbs simultaneously, so there's no way to turn just one of the bulbs on.)

Overall, I am very happy with this lamp.If you like the style and don't find any of the caveats above to be a problem, I highly recommend it.

I installed one of these in my bathroom -- the electrical box is directly over a surface-mount medicine cabinet and I was having trouble finding a fixture with a deep enough mounting bracket so that the light would project over the cabinet instead of just shining on the top of it.This one works quite well in that location.It's not obvious from the photo, but the bottom of the diffuser is completely enclosed, not open like a bell.This means the light diffuses through the whole tube rather than being focused out the bottom.The single bulb (pin-type fluorescent) emits plenty of light for a small bathroom.

Watch out for loose mounting hardware in the box when you unpack it.I thought it was missing some washers until I searched through all the packing material again.

I saw this fixture at Home Depot Expo and fell in love with it almost 2 years ago. The look is very airy, perfect above a dining table. I have a traditional home, and I am sure it will be fine despite the contemporary look.The almost icicle like crystals that hang down everywhere allow it to look more elegant.When the lights are on this fixture just sparkles at an unbeliveable level.The actual bulbs disapper among the many crystals.The price was almost 2,000 so I went on line, and found it for about 1600.The only reason I did not buy it was the size, it is huge.It is just too big above an average dining table.GOOD NEWS, today I found out they now make a smaller 7 light unit that is about 22 inches, perfect for me.I dont need 25 lights anyway and would have to had dimmed them.I am sure any vendor that can get the 25 unit can get the 7, just ask.Be forwarned-this light ships from Italy and at times delivery may takes months.If buying on line from a vendor you dont know, make sure you use a credit card, ideally just pay a deposit, and dont let it go past the 90 days you get with your credit card to dispute the charges(time your order with your credit card cycle to gain a few extra weeks) .I have read may bad review of the vendors selling these lights.

This is actually the second fixture I've purchased of this exact same model. The first one was put in one of our rather large and formal master bathrooms. There's recessed lighting above each sink and in several places in the room, but we decided to use this flush mount fixture on the ceiling in the center of the room to augment the lighting. After installing a dimmer, it gives off a beautiful soft amber glow and looks much more expensive than the low price asked for it. We liked it so much that we replaced our 1st floor breezeway flush mount with this same fixture. It's now mounted on the ceiling next to a formal foyer with 25 foot high ceilings and a 2 story staircase which is painted Benjamin Moore Aura Pomegranite Red. It completely transformed this rather ordinary breezeway leading in to the foyer into something unique. I would absolutely recommend this fixture for anyone who is looking to upgrade their look and have a conversation piece that people WILL comment on. It looks like a piece that would cost several hundred dollars more than it does. I was looking for a place that we could put a third fixture!

Good idea but very poor quality! This product doesn't deserve any stars. The whole point of having a remote control is to be able to put the candles in places where one can't or doesn't want to have turn them on by hand. But if the remote doesn't work, then the candles are practically useless, unless you switch them on manually each time you want to use them. These are also expensive to runbecause each candle needs 3 AAA batteries and doesn't last for too many hours of use. After only 2 weeks of daily use, the remote "broke" -- replacing the remote's round battery twice with brand new ones didn't help. I wrote to The Gerson Company to exchange the defective remote for a new one and their response was essentially: "Too-bad-we-only-sell-to-retailers-go-cry-to-Amazon-and-leave-us-alone!" So stay away from this product; you're better off spending your money on candles with timers. Candle Impressions (available on QVC) makes really good ones.

The high cost of flameless candles has kept me from purchasing them so when I saw these I was thrilled at the value.The remote control feature is what sold me on these candles since even the pricier candles sold at retail don't generally come with a remote.The remote control works when you switch the candles to the on position and it easily turns them all on and off.What they don't tell you is that when the candles are off, but the switch stays in the on position, the battery is still being drained.Therefore, the batteries in all 6 of my candles are now dead after only 3 weeks on my wall.So although the remote is a novel idea, having to manually switch the candles on and off before and after using the remote defeats the purpose all together.The brightness is only fair on these candles but they do look fairly realistic when on and off.

I love the concept of energy efficient products, and have found that full-spectrum light does make a difference in how I feel, but this product is not where it needs to be.I gave it 3 stars because it did work at first.

I wanted an affordable, attractive chandelier to put over the center island in my kitchen - to replace an ugly, too-bright fluorescent light.
I had planned to install a dimmer switch, so that I could control the amount of light.However, this chandelier IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH A DIMMING SYSTEM.A large sheet of red paper warns you of this, once you receive the product; however, in the product description above, no mention is made that the three sockets ARE NOT STANDARD SCREW-IN SOCKETS, but a twist-and-lock system compatible only with Westinghouse's compact fluorescent bulbs (which are included in the shipment).
I suspect that this is why the product is so heavily discounted.
If you are looking for an inexpensive chandelier and you don't want to use a dimmer switch, then I would recommend this product.However if, like me, you assume that a chandelier would be equipped to use a variety of bulbs and to be set up with a dimmer switch --- don't be misled.

The 6-arm Camilla chandelier looks even better in person than it does in the Pottery Barn catalogue.It's an attention-grabbing centerpiece to our dining room.The organic branches look very natural and the ornate crystals capture the light beautifully.With that being said, I'm only giving it three out of five stars because this chandelier has a design flaw that makes it very cumbersome to set-up.The crystals (each of which consists of a glass piece, base and screw) must be manually screwed into the stem-like branches.This may sound easy, but around 20 holes were too shallow to fit the screws.We were able to get around this, but it took many hours of work, which including taking some of the crystals apart. (It took around 6 hours for us to get all the crystals in place.)In short, this chandelier is really pretty, but don't buy it unless you are handy and willing to put in some extra work to get it set-up correctly.

I really like these pendant lights, in the description it doesn't tell you if you have to use them at 47-1/4 inch but we took a gamble hoping that you wouldn't and they come in 3 sections so they can be made shorter. We use them above an island counter in the kitchen and if they were 47-1/4 they would almost touch the counter (we have 8 foot ceilings). We left out a pole on both of them and the look beautiful!! We bought all of the hardware house oil rubbed bronze items to match we love them so much!!

This chandelier looks great!Came packed well, but one of the ceramic candle plates (bobeche?) was found broken.Cohassett Colonials corrected the problem by overnighting a new one (needed some filing of the center hole for fit).I'll get to assembling the arms to the pendant soon - it comes disassembled (7 pieces - 5 arms, 1 center pendant and 1 chain/ceiling piece pkg) with the arms prewired.

This is a beautiful fixture, but it does have drawbacks. I bought it locally about 7 years ago. I had to take it back three times because there was a flaw in how they were welding the flowers to the ornate framework. I'd open the box and there would be one or two of them broken off in the container. I'm sure they've fixed their process by now... Also, when you are buying lights like this, make sure to check the wattage. This is very pretty when lit (even the center has a light in it), but the sconces only take tiny 40-watt bulbs, so the light is very dim.

The fixtures, when finally installed, is beautiful.However, the instructions were almost useless.It included very general instruction which didn't necessarily coordinate with the light fixture I purchased.Also, the decorative round nuts that secure the fixture to the ceiling are difficult to handle, and impossible to secure tightly.And, now that they're tightened, I don't know that I will every be able to remove the fixture from my ceiling.

Overall the fixture is beautiful and inexpensive.Notwithstanding, it's still not a good deal.You get what you pay for.

I bought this fixture because when compared with other fixtures that were much more expensive, it seemed to be equal and would match my decor.I did not make a mistake.It matches perfectly.I did not want off white or dim globes.The globes are frosted white.It also has a very nice metallic brick color finish.The picture does not do it justice.
